Since my UFO Hovercraft worked pretty well I wanted to design an ordinary Hovercraft with a spinning propeller.

It was tricky to get the propeller to spin, but this is what I came up with!

This Hovercraft has one tunnel for float, one for drive, the one for the drive/thrust also spins the propeller.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • the actual flight depends much on the balloon you chose. A smaller balloon with high pressure will deliver a more straight flight with more thrust, but the whole ride is shorter.

  • a beginner balloon wont deliver that much thrust and the hovercraft will float more or less on one place taking turns

  • If the pressure of the balloon is to low, it may not even float

  • make sure the balloon doesnt touch the ground, this will result in the hovercraft not floating right.

  • If you are annoyed by pulling of and on the balloon: just keep it on the hovercraft, cover the thrust hole and blow right into the buttom hole to blow up the balloon.

These differences in flight behaviour make this model interesting for physics class to train observation.
