Featured 3D Models in This Collection
Here are the 5 carefully curated STL files in this collection, each tested and verified for quality:
1. 3D Printed Dragon Scale Fabric
Due to the large scale attached to the links, this chainmail is slightly less flexible than optimal. Still veeery satisfying to play with.
Printed in PLA. Slowed the printer down a bit.
Make sure you take build plate adhesion precautions.
2. Dragon scale Chainmail
This is dragon scale chainmail, a print in place multi-use flexible fabric. This chainmail can be used from anything from a satisfying fidget toy to an integral part of you cosplay or costumes. This model is strong so feel free to play till your hearts content or weather it to deataile a costume. This model can be colored via bambu studio. For best results use a small layer height, but .2 works just fine. I have included multiple models in the raw model files including a single piece so you can make your own custom shapes. Everything but the single chainmail link stl file is reduced so it slices fast so beware of using high resolution shapes with this model (before this model was redeuced at a 20x20 chainmail it was over 34 million triangles). If there are any shapes you would specifically like Id be happy to make them and upload it as a profile.
3. 3D Printed Articulated Scalemail Bracer
This bracelet is designed to be both flexible and sturdy, with a unique scale-like pattern that provides an elegant texture and comfortable wear.
Printed as a single piece, this bracelet requires no assembly, featuring a clever design that allows for natural movement and a perfect fit around the wrist. The edges are equipped with small, discreet eyelets that make fastening simple and secure. These connectors are designed to accommodate various types of strings or bands for easy attachment and adjustment to fit different wrist sizes.
Key Features:
Single-piece 3D print for immediate wearability.
Flexible scale pattern for a comfortable fit.
Eyelets on the sides for easy fastening and adjustment.

4. 3D Printed Chainmail Sleeve
Create your own super light chain mail with 3d printing Turn your 3D printer into a medieval forge with this groundbreaking, multi-layer chainmail model, meticulously designed to maximize space while offering unparalleled fidelity. The result is a life-sized chainmail sheet larger than your printer's build plate.
5. NASA Chainmail Fabric
Redesign of Keeeal's hex fabric to optimize for FDM printing.
Main changes include thicker links, simpler geometry, beefed up base and continuous center section.
Note: the coned center section design saves print time (prior design required individual deposition points for 12 tiny dots that often failed, but that are eliminated here) and provides the strength needed to eliminate the vertical links
Printing at either 0.15mm or 0.20mm layer height works great
I've uploaded a few sizes to save time and allow you to find one that fits your printer.
10/29/2021 UPDATE - After some feedback on the initial sheet links (to join sheets together and form larger and more elaborate designs (e.g. actual suits of chainmail, fitted product shielding, etc.), I have redesigned them and posted them here (they should be much easier to print, assemble and use with the fabric)
